Coloured & Glitter Gels Application Guide
Stage 1: Nail Preparation
- Cleanse: Begin with a clean slate by removing any existing polish or impurities using 100% pure acetone on a lint-free pad.
- Cuticle Care: Push back and remove any dead skin or cuticle on the nail plate to ensure a smooth application surface.
- Buffing: Use a 180-grit file to gently remove the natural nail's surface shine, prepping it for better gel adhesion.
- Shaping: File the free edge into your desired shape, moving in one direction to prevent damage.
- Dusting: Brush off any residual dust to maintain a clean nail plate.
- De-greasing: Wipe the nail plate towards the cuticle with pure acetone to eliminate excess oils or dust.
- Priming: Apply a dehydrator and an acid-free primer for maximum adhesion. This step is optional but recommended.
-
Base Coat Selection: Choose a base coat based on nail needs:
- Rubber Base: For weaker nails, offering added strength.
- 2in1 Base: Ensures long-lasting color, ideal for use with color gel.
- Tulip Rubber Base: Enhances opacity for lighter colors, also providing strength.
- White Rubber Base: Ideal for making light or pastel colors pop while offering the same benefits as regular rubber base.
- Application: Apply a thin layer of your selected base coat, capping the free edge.
- Curing: Cure under a UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
Stage 2: Color Application
- First Layer: Apply a thin layer of your chosen gel color, ensuring even distribution and full coverage from cuticle to free edge.
- Cleanup: Remove any gel from the skin before curing to avoid imperfections.
- Curing: Cure the first layer under a UV/LED lamp for 30 seconds.
- Second Layer: Apply a second coat for enhanced color depth and cure again for 30 seconds. Repeat if necessary, remembering thinner layers prevent lifting.
- Top Coat Preparation: Once color layers are cured and satisfactory, proceed to apply a top coat.
